It's 2026

It's been a little over 2 years since I purchased the property now known as Forrest Farms.

In that time, I converted a 1/2-acre field into the flower farm of my dreams and renovated the 3400 sq ft building to reflect its modern use while honoring its deep history in the Town of Westminster. I learned how to install floors and reconstruct walls and kept Kilz in business with countless gallons of restorative primer. I purchased a retail garden center and florist business and successfully navigated my first Christmas season in the business.

I loved every minute of it.

But how is it already 2026? THIS is the year I intend to establish new routines and settle into the balance that is right for me. THIS is the year I do things the right way instead of the fast way ;)

THIS is the year I slow down :)

Maybe some of that will hold true, maybe it won't. But one thing is for sure, I'm going to do my best to stay grounded and remain present. Gardening is what saves me from myself. It's an escape that provides me with clarity and brings peace to my soul. It quiets a long day. I am so proud of myself for making the leap out of the corporate world and into the life of my dreams.

The decade of January is tough in Massachusetts! It's brutal to not have my hands in the soil but it makes the process of PLANNING the 2026 crops so much more fun. Hello, spreadsheets!

In the days and weeks to come I'll share details about the variety of flowers you'll find at Forrest Farms and Brookbound this spring and summer (and maybe share a tip or two on how you can grow them yourself!).
